An Athens man was arrested for making meth after officers answered a call of an intoxicated man running down the street.

When officers arrived, they located Steven Morrissey in the garage of his residence on Longview Street.

While talking with Morrissey, officers observed several ingredients used to make methamphetamine. They also located two pistols and a 12 gauge shotgun.

Officers charged Morrissey with possession of methamphetamines, manufacture of methamphetamines, ex-felon in possession of a fire arm, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
