Athens man arrested on 4 year old robbery charge | Crime

An Athens man is being held in the Limestone County Jail after being indicted on robbery charges dating back four and a half years.

According to Athens Police Chief Floyd Johnson, Marty Whisman was involved in a 2008 home-invasion style robbery. Johnson says that Whisman and another suspect broke down a door at the Athens Park Apartments, and told the victims that they were narcotics officers. The robbers took cash and medication from the apartment and left. Whisman was arrested Friday night and booked into the county jail. The other suspect was arrested in 2008.
