Athens man charged with $4000 in copper theft | Crime

Athens Police arrested a suspected serial copper thief Friday.

Officers said George Easto was arrested for stealing copper from a recycling center. Officials said they suspected he had been stealing copper for the past few months.

The copper stolen was valued at around $4,000.

Easton was charged with theft of property first degree and taken to the Limestone County Jail. His bond was set at $5,000.
