Athens man charged with assault over stabbing incident | Crime

Athens Police received a phone call that a person had been stabbed in the area Plato Jones Street on Saturday evening.

The victim was a 20-year-old man and was taken to the Athens Limestone Emergency Room.

When officers spoke with the victim, he told officers he had confronted a man about a fight with one of the victim’s cousin’s.  He said the offender then pulled a knife and stabbed him.

Later that evening, Athens Police investigators arrested Patrick Malone for assault second degree. He was booked at the police department and transferred to the county jail on a $5,000 bond.
