Decatur man charged with impersonating an officer | Crime
ATHENS, AL (WAFF) - Athens police extradited 38-year-old Michael Lee Slaughter of Decatur back to Alabama from Jackson, Mississippi Thursday.
Slaughter is charged with first degree robbery, first degree burglary, and impersonating a peace officer after an incident on July 27.
Investigators said Slaughter barged into a motel room occupied by a teenager, tied up the victim and stole a television, game console and other electronics.
The teen told police the offender loaded the items into a gray Pontiac G6 and sped away. Investigators developed Slaughter as a suspect after reviewing surveillance video.
Slaughter is also accused of a similar crime in Decatur.
Slaughter was booked into jail and his bond has not been set.
