Athens Utility warns of scam | Business

Athens Utilities has been notified that customers may be receiving fraudulent emails requesting payment of utility bills via credit card through the email site.

The email makes immediate payment seem necessary. Athens Utilities nor their billing agents have distributed emails of this nature.

If you receive such an email, do not pay or enter any personal information! Forward the email to agolden@athens-utilities.com.

The situation is under investigation.
